Haley Family Landcare Group Franklin

We have formed this as a family group with plans for riparian restoration along our Huon River fronted property along the Huon Highway.

Our aim is to remove the large stand of mature Cracked Willows that are invading our property, plant suitable trees along the creek; as previously planted trees have mostly died once tap roots reached the saltwater table, to plant Blackwood and Ovata along the west side of property facing the highway.

Significant damage to the creek occurred during the floods last year with significant road gravel deposited from Maxfields Road and extensive erosion of the creek edges.

There are a number of mature Ovata on our property. We are directly opposite North Egg Island.

35 native plants have been planted in the front yard over the last 2 years.
