Craigs Hill Landcare

Our group has just begun in 2024, so we hope it's numbers will grow. Our aims are to care for an old tip at the end of our road, which is owned by Sorell Council. We want to manage the weeds, of which are many, including boneseed and pampas grass to stop their spread to the surrounding properties and coastline nearby. There is also a large native bushland owned by council and at the back of the old tip area. We would like to create a space for enjoying nature, light recreation and walking without spreading weeds and possibly getting council to create a bushland reserve for native flora and fauna. Long term we hope this to become a nature reserve, cared for together by community and council. Short term we will host working bees, possibly a few BBQ's and try and get rid of the weeds and then maintain the space.
